Pearly Bird

Pearly Bird, 6 x 6 oil on canvas

6 x 6 oil on canvas

I have a mother of pearl bird that my mother-in-law brought me from Mexico. It is so delicate and I love the way the light hits it from any angle. I'm a big bird lover anyway so I have several small collectible birds. However, speaking of birds, they have eaten almost all of our grapes we just noticed. That is not a good thing! (for us, -- it's great for them! I hear a very vocal/happy mockingbird out there today - running on grape fructose no doubt) We'll figure something out by the time the next crops sprouts again next summer. Maybe we'll need a scarecrow...

Lesson learned! Do NOT tell Camille how very much you admire a piece of her glorious artwork, or she might just give it to you! My husband and I are lucky and blessed owners of three such gifts. Each hangs proudly in our home, and the comments of guests who visit us and admire the artwork are incredible. Camille's technique fascinates me! Her work fascinates others as well.
The mother-in-law of whom she speaks is my mom...we lost her last year. So, the picture of this precious little bird truly has a great deal of meaning to me. Thank you, Camille. With hugs and love.

Oh, Mary Anne, I seem to remember that at least one was a trade for the BBQ you two provided at Kevin's birthday party. It was only a tiny token of our esteem and the extreme gratitude we feel for having you in our lives. Love you! Sista Camille
